"Let's race through the USA on bike"
Saturday, june 16th, 2018
Cyclists from all over the world start one of the longest endurance races you can imagine. Starting at Oceanside, West Coast USA, our 2 athlete relay team has 9 days to race all across the USA, to arrive in Annapolis, East Coast USA. Sarah Matthews and Tommy Vansteenkiste, supported by a 8-member crew, will tackle various challenges along the way. Hot deserts, steep mountains, windy plains,... they will have to be prepared for everything.
Why do we do it? For Pulmonary Hypertension (PH).
a rare and serious, debilitating and progressive disease with an overall survival rate of only 7 years.
RACE ACROSS AMERICA
Race Across America (RAAM) is one of the most respected and longest running ultra-endurance events in the world. It is a race, but, unlike the three great European Grand Tours (Tour de France, Vuelta a España and Giro d’Italia), RAAM is not a stage race. RAAM is one continual stage, starting on the west coast and ending on the east coast of America.
